I'm Samuel-Taylor Augustin — Caribbean-American, born to Haitian and Jamaican parents, and raised in Georgia. When I finally stopped calling myself an "aspiring actor" and started calling myself a working actor, everything changed. I started taking the real work seriously — not the fantasy of it, but the craft. I earned my BFA with University Honors from NYU Tisch studying the Meisner technique, and I've been working professionally in TV and film ever since. See my work on IMDb →
But here's what matters most: I still see the world as a beginner does. I may have experience on professional sets in Hollywood, but I'm still learning every day how to become more truthful and honest in the craft. That's the important part. There is always more to discover.
I believe the true work of an actor is to continuously "side-quest" — throw ourselves into the world and experience it in new ways (learned that one from my mother. Ha!). Ultimately, as actors, all we're doing is telling our truths under certain given circumstances. So go out and find truth. Bring that into the room with me. I'll guide you down uncharted waters, and we'll discover something real along the way.
